Frequently Asked Questions

What are the age requirements?

This is a full-length Broadway musical, and we need seasoned performers to perform the most challenging roles in Shrek the Musical. However, our summer production is open to all performers age 4 and up. We’re keeping an open mind when casting roles, and are excited to work with a wide range of experience and abilities this summer.

I’ve never seen “Shrek the Musical.” How do get familiar with it?

You can watch the Broadway version on Netflix or purchase a DVD online. You can also listen to the Broadway Cast Recording on Youtube. Keep in mind there are some differences between the Broadway version and the licensed version we will peform

I can’t make either of the audition dates – what do I do?

Please e-mail our director or send us a Facebook message as soon as possible. We will try to arrange a way to see you.

What do I bring to auditions?

Please complete the three audition forms and bring them to auditions. There is a $15 membership fee due at auditions. Feel free to print out the songs you have prepared, but copies will be provided at the auditions.

When are rehearsals?

Rehearsals will begin June 22nd and will typically run Monday-Thursday, 5:30-8:45. Actors will be called at different times to different rehearsals, depending on your role.

I have a few vacations planned. How many rehearsals can I miss?

We understand that summers are a time for getaways, and encourage you to miss fewer than eight rehearsals.

What is the song “Forever?” It’s not on the soundtrack or in the movie.

When “Shrek the Musical” left Broadway and went on its first national tour, the writers changed many elements of the show, including the dragon. They cut the female dragon trio singing “Donkey Pot Pie” and replaced it with a soloist singing a new song called “Forever.” You can listen to the entire song here.
